My interest in expos was formed at an early age, when I came across a 1964-65 New York World's Fair playset at my local five & dime (in Kansas!) I just had to have it!
Later, I became more interested in that Expo, due to its connection with Disney. (I've worked for The Walt Disney Company for almost 35 years). Sadly, I was too economically challenged to visit any of the last Expos here in North America, but since I've been to Aichi, Shanghai, Milan, and Dubai. I'm already planning my trip to Osaka, and I really hope Minneapolis wins their bid for 2027! I also collect memorabilia from our USA/Canada expos back to 1939. I love Guide Books! There is NOTHING to compare to a World Expo. They're always enlightening, educational and most of all fun events, that are all one-of-a-kind. And I swear, the next time I tell someone I'm going to a Worlds Fair (you have to say that in these parts because they have no idea that they haven't been called that in years) and they say "They still have those?" I just may scream. 😉
Welcome Todd! Thank you for joining us and sharing your experience! It would be great if you could share a story about your favorite pieces of memorabilia. Please let us know if you'd like to write a blog post.
