Commemorated the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' voyage to the Americas. It was a small 3-month exposition that ran simultaneously with Expo '92 in Seville.

This was seen as an experiment for the smaller 3-month expositions that the BIE would recognize in the 21st Century in years that don't end with a "0" or "5."

It was also unusual in that it was held the same year as Seville's Expo 92.
